Practice for lunchtime concert
Spent a lovely couple of hours in the chapel of Wonford House Hospital, Exeter, listening to classical guitarist Clive Betts run through some pieces for his concert on the 5th September. Here's traditional Cuban tune, Guantanamera as an appetizer. Contact me on henry.dunn@nhs.net if you want tickets.

Phoenix Traders
My wife has become a Phoenix Trader! They sell an excellent range of cards, gift wrap and stationery, printed with plant-based inks, on unbleached card from sustainable sources and in envelopes made of 100% recycled paper. Cards are £1.50 or £1.20 if you buy ten. In shops you'd probably pay at least £3 for cards of this quality. have a look at her website http://www.phoenix-trading.eu/web/catherinedunn/

Oak Integrated Practice
Have added a link to this wonderful organisation, run by a colleague, and for whom I used to do some sessions. They provide a variety of therapies, all by fully qualified and registered therapists. They aim to be accessible to all, regardless of ability, and aim to make it as affordable as possible. Do take a look, and if you live anywhere near them, try them out!

Classical Journey
This is the blog for the excellent radio show I appeared on yesterday, along with Clive Betts, the classical guitarist who is launching my Autumn Lunchtime Concerts Series on 5th September (see earlier post, below). The presenter, Luch, has the perfect voice and demeanour for this show, and should be on Radio 3! He takes listeners on a weekly journey from renaissance to contemporary composers. He does this a s a volunteer, but I think he should be a pro! Link added to side of page and here http://classicaljourneyphonic.blogspot.com/

Noodling!
Well, I've been persuaded to put a YouTube video out (Thanks Wayne!) This was done in one take this afternoon at work on our rather out of tune piano - the warm humid weather plays havoc with a piano of that age. I may post some more once it's been tuned!

Research into use of Live Music and Visual Arts in Hospitals
This is some excellent research done at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2003, showing the many and amazing benefits of live music and visual arts in hospitals. All hospitals should do this! Click title for link.

Ten things not to say to a depressed person
Discovered this wonderful blog post recently, describing some of the less tactful, and sometimes downright hurtful things people say to sufferers of depression. Also on the blog is the flipside - 10 supportive things I'm glad people said to me. Do take a look http://tinyurl.com/4x8yraj
